John Smeaton with Nathan Thomson
WEE Smeato faced up to big Smeato and was chuffed to bits when the airport hero asked for HIS autograph.
Nine-year-old Nathan Thomson was thrilled after being recognised for outstanding bravery at the Young Scots.
And even more thrilled when he was snapped with Hollyoaks babes Zoe Lister and Leah Hackett.
Nathan, of Rosyth, Fife, was scarred for life when he was stabbed while trying to save his mum Ena, 34, from a crazed knifeman.
And his meeting with John Smeaton understandably got one of the biggest cheers of the night.
Nathan said: "Everyone says I am just like John because I saved my mum.
"I asked him for his autograph but he wanted mine instead. He says I'm his little soldier. He's now my best friend. The First Minister is also fab. He wanted his picture taken with me...and he offered me his pudding."
Smeato said: "I was so honoured to give Nathan his award. He's an inspiration to everybody.
"If you make a stand and do what you think is right then nothing can go wrong for you."
