Builder Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward) is not a man to be messed with as his teenage blackmailer David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) finds out in terrifying style. Knowing his tormentor is terrified of water, Charlie traps him and ducks him in a cold bath.

EASTENDERS

It's all doom and gloom in Albert Square again as Honey (Emma Barton) decides she can't accept baby Petal. It's devastating for doting dad Billy (Perry Fenwick), who is left reeling when his wife decides she wants to have her adopted.

There's a new face in the Dales and it's a soap stalwart from Down Under. Ann Charleston (above) - better known as Madge in Neighbours - is Lily, the longlost sister of battleaxe Edna Birch (Shirley Stelfox) and she comes armed with a devastating secret.

RIVER CITY

Charlie (June Brogan) is horrified on learning Bob (Stephen Purdon) has been speaking to Deek (Gordon McCorkell) about their relationship. She confronts Bob about it then storms off to a party on a mission to drown her sorrows.

BEST OF THE REST

In Hollyoaks (above), pregnant Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies) is in a car crash. In Home And Away, Rachel (Amy Matthews) hits the bottle after a chopper accident and in Neighbours, Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) snogs rival Lyn Scully (Janet Andrewartha).
