Your Chance To Take To the Email Stage At Live At Loch Lomond

Live At Loch Lomond

THE Sunday Mail's Email stage at Live At Loch Lomond 2008 will be even bigger and better than last year - and we are giving YOUR BAND the chance to play at the festival. All you have to do is send in a demo - or submit it through the Myspace address linked here.

We're looking for talented unsigned bands to play in our 1750-capacity tent at the wicked festival, which runs over the weekend of August 2 and 3.

Last time our tent saw the likes of Sergeant, The Hedrons, Tiny Dancers, The Law and The Haze perform to hundreds of fans - and with an increased capacity of 1750 this year your band can play to an even bigger crowd.

The Email stage - in association with supercool Glasgow music bar The Box - will again showcase the very best of rising musical talent, giving unsigned bands the chance to win new fans and maybe even land that elusive record deal.We will showcase bands or artists playing all sorts of styles, making our tent more eclectic than last year.

Plus they will share a stage with our established headliners - watch this space for details of who will appear over the weekend of August 3 and 4 in the stunning site on the shores of Loch Lomond.

Headliners on the main stage this year include The Sex Pistols and Groove Armada, plus there is fantastic dance music and much more on offer over the various arenas and stages.

But for any unsigned band, the excitement lies in the chance to play thr gig of a lifetime on the Email stage - as event promoter Ricky Magowan explained.

He said: "There has already been an incredible amount of interest in the Email/The Box stage on the back of last year's success - we have had to bump up the size of the tent because we are expecting it to be even more popular this time.

"It is an amazing opportunity for young Scottish talent to put themselves in the shop window, playing alongside some more established artists and showing what they can do in front of a very big crowd.

"It's important to us that we recognise and encourage the amazing talent there is in Scotland, rather than focus on just the big names on the main stage."

If you would like to be in with a chance of playing at the festival on the Email stage, send a three song demo to Stevie McColm, The Box, 431 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow G2 3LG to arrive no later than March 28.

Please ensure you include a phone number and details of any myspace page or email address.

We are welcoming entries from all styles of music and those selected will progress to a series of showcases in The Box through April and May.
