10 CANOES (15)
This Australian movie is entirely soundtracked in Aboriginal dialects. It's the tale of one brother desiring the other's third wife and the moral fable that they use to resolve the situation. Fascinating.

FLYBOYS (12A)
A silly combat romp little boys will lap up - but the gaping plot holes, dire dialogue and rank odour of stale cheese will put the rest of us off. Still, the air combat scenes are spectacular thanks to CGI.

PARADISE LOST (18)
I'm not a fan of horror but I enjoyed this Hostel-style slasher. It follows a bunch of spoiled teens backpacking through a sleepy Brazilian backwater - who are then chopped up for black market surgery. Gory but great fun.

WEDDING DAZE (15)
The lovely Isla Fisher stars - and that is the best thing about this film. Jason Biggs of American Pie infamy is also in it, which should tell you all you need to know about the plot and tone. Silly comedy for teens.

THE BLOSSOMING OF MAXIMO OLIVEROS (15)
Melodrama about a young hoodlum's life in vibrant but dangerous Manila. The film focuses on Nathan Lopez's adolescent angst rather than violence, including his gay crush on a cop.
