Sex and the City star keeps son in hand-me-down clothes

SARAH Jessica Parker's son only wears hand-me-down clothes as she doesn't want to spoil him.

As one of eight children Parker, 43, used to wear cast-offs.

Even though she made £1.5million in the film version of Sex And The City, she brings up James Wilkie the same.

Sarah, who plays clothes horse Carrie Bradshaw in the film, out on May 28, said she and hubby Matthew Broderick, 46, believe it is important not to spoil him.

She said: "He only wears hand-medowns.

I've got all these older nephews and my mum kept all my brother's clothes.

"I don't think I've ever bought him clothes." Parker, who has a production firm, a clothing line and three perfumes, says motherhood is her main job.

She said: "We must show James Wilkie by example what it means to owe your community something and that he is not entitled to the benefits of our hard work.

"That doesn't mean I'm withholding or keeping from him the joys of childhood.

"But I don't want him to think the world he lives in is the real world. It's not."
