KEIRA KNIGHTLEY has vowed to snub the Golden Globes awards night in support of her writer mum.
The star's Glaswegian mother, award-winning playwright Sharman MacDonald, is a member of The Writers' Guild of America who have been on strike for two months.
The union are in dispute over their members' share of digital rights and will picket next Sunday's ceremony in Beverly Hills.
Keira, 22, is up for a Golden Globe for the film Atonement with James McAvoy.
But her spokesman confirmed: "Keira won't cross a picket line as her mother is a writer."
Ricky Gervais, Hugh Laurie and Minnie Driver are also up for awards.
