Gemma Is New Bond Girl

THE head girl of St Trinian's was yesterday revealed as the latest Bond girl.

Gorgeous Gemma Arterton, 22, beat 1500 other hopefuls to the role then texted her mum to say: "I got Bond".

Showbiz bible Variety yesterday confirmed her deal to star opposite Daniel Craig in the Casino Royale follow-up.

Gemma was a relatively unknown stage actress when she won her debut film role in St Trinian's, opposite Colin Firth and Rupert Everett.

She plays head girl Kelly, a role which had previously been linked to Sienna Miller and Amy Winehouse.

The 007 movie, codenamed Bond 22, picks up where Casino Royale left off.

Insiders say Gemma, from Kent, has a "nice-sized role".

A source at the Bond studios Eon Productions said: "She has the modern look."

Gemma will soon start filming with Craig, 39.

Previous Bond girls include Diana Rigg, Honor Blackman, and Halle Berry.
