Charlie Sheen is one man who'll make you laugh

TWO AND A HALF MEN: SEASON 4 (15) *****

I love this breezy American comedy series with Charlie Sheen basically playing himself as a successful,boozy,sex-addicted playboy who has allowed his geeky brother Alan (Jon Cryer) and his son Jake to move in with him.

The appeal of the programme lies in its fun situation and snappy script. Sheen is likeable as ever and laps up his role while the annoying Alan serves as a perfect comic foil.

One of the best imports from the States in recent years and one which bears repeated viewings.

STAR WARS PREQUEL TRILOGY (12) *****

Finally we can snap up the box set of the three controversial Star Wars prequels - and even the geeks who went so bananas over them must realise they are actually decent films.

The brilliantly dark Revenge Of The Sith neatly ties up loose ends to set up the films we know so well. The Phantom Menace was mauled but watching it again now it is an entertaining film, while Attack Of The Clones boasts incredible action sequences.

Let's not forget they are all children's films - but I'm a big kid so I love them.

DEAD OR ALIVE (15) **

Video game adaptations have never been much cop and this doesn't change that.

It's packed with eye candy for teenage boys, with wrestler Tina Armstrong (Jaime Pressley), jewel thief Christie Allen (Holly Valance) and Japanese princess Kasumi (Devon Aoki) among the contestants in a massive martial arts tournament. No plot, hot chicks, skimpy outfits and big fights.

THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL (15) ***

If period dramas float your boat this take on the story of Henry VIII could be right up your street...but it's far removed from the Merchant Ivory fodder you're used to.

The TV drama focuses on Anne Boleyn's less infamous sister Mary, who also had a fling with the king before he married her sister.

There was a massive Hollywood film version starring Scarlett Johanssen but this lo-fi BBC version - a more faithful adaptation of the book - won a massive army of fans, not least for Jodhi May's performance as Anne.

Natascha McElhone plays Mary.
