10,000 B.C.(12A) *****
This is in no way historically accurate. If you're the sort of person who gets his or her knickers in a twist about dinosaurs being from the wrong era in Jurassic Park, you'll hate it.
But if you fancy a fast-paced adventure movie that cobbles together all sorts of plot cliches, you'll love it.
D'Leh (Steven Strait) is a hunter who falls desperately in love with Evolet (Camilla Bell) - only for her to be snatched by a band of evil warlords.
D'Leh rounds up a posse and sets off to rescue her - and finds there are hazards beyond his wildest dreams.
Battling predators such as sabre-tooth tigers along the way, D'Leh builds up an army as his quest to rescue his girl takes him to a whole new world.
ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE (18) *****
Teen horror flick with the muchadmired Mandy (Amber Heard) and a bunch of would-be lovers on a trip. It all goes wrong in a manner blatantly inspired by the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
There are a few nice little twists, turns and an unexpectedly good ending keeps things interesting.
Pure slasher horror which will appeal to teenagers. REDACTED (18) ***** Brian De Palma's powerful film attacks the presence of American troops in Iraq.
Wannabe movie-maker Angel Salazar (Izzy Diaz) shoots everything he can on his video camera while on duty in Iraq.
With his fellow soldiers Reno Flake (Patrick Carroll), Lawyer McCoy (Rob Devaney) and Gabe Blix (Kel O'Neill), he is manning a checkpoint when a drunk Reno begins harassing an Iraqi family.
The situation escalates into rape and murder, putting the others on the spot. Lawyer in particular is desperate to see justice done but does not want to be seen as a grass. Powerful stuff.
