FUTURAMA:THE BEAST WITH A BILLION BACKS (15) ****

The second of four planned Futurama movies is here at last - and I'm relieved to tell you that it's light years ahead of its predecessor Bender's Big Score. With a better plot, funnier script and more of the feel of the TV show about it, it's terrific viewing throughout with none of the silly plot holes or dull patches which blighted the first.

I don't know if it quite attains the heights of the best episodes of the series but at least it's coming close. The central story is about a rip forming in space, allowing the beast of the title to come to Earth and use its powers to make Fry the head of a new religion.

There are some bizarre twists but that's to be expected from this show.Look out for guest appearances by Dan Castellaneta of the Simpsons, David Cross from Arrested Development, Brittany Murphy and Stephen Hawking.

THE WATER HORSE: LEGEND OF THE DEEP (PG) ****

This lovely adaptation of a Dick King-Smith story is the perfect family film - especially here in Scotland, as it comes up with a wonderfully whimsical tale involving Nessie.

Angus (Alex Etel) is a lonely little boy struggling to cope during World War II as his father is serving in the navy while he stays at home with mum.He befriends the monster - named Crusoe - and the pair form a strong bond. A charming film for kids which will provide plenty of entertainment for adults too.

THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL (12) ***

Natalie Portman, Ana Torrent, David Morrissey, Scarlett Johansson and Eric Bana star in this lavish period drama looking at the lead-up to the famous tale of Anne Boleyn.

Anne (Portman) and sister Mary (Scarlett) compete for the attentions of King Henry VIII (Bana) - but when he chooses the shyer Mary as his mistress, the older, prettier sister goes all-out to snare him and ultimately become queen.

The plot is dodgy at times but the sisters are played well and it is an interesting slant on the story.
