IMAGINE ME AND YOU (12)
How could anyone not love Piper Perabo? The super-cute star of Coyote Ugly seemed to drop off the Hollywood radar for some time after the girlie hit but returns in this cheery romcom with a twist. She's a bride who falls for her female wedding florist and spends the rest of the movie wondering whether she's a lesbian.

DIRTY PRETTY THINGS -
PUFFING ON A COFFIN NAIL (15)
Carl Barat's career has gone from strength to strength since he disbanded the Libertines and here he shows why with a rousing romp through some of his new outfit's finer moments, including Bang Bang You're Dead. Performance DVDs can be hit and miss but this one is a case of the former.

AQUAMARINE (PG)
The sort of silly teenage girl flick the target market will love but everyone else will detest. The themes are the same as always - young love and all that - but there's a twist as the main character is a mermaid. Pals Claire and Hailey are devastated that the latter's family are emigrating. They befriend a mermaid who grants them a wish... at a price.

THE DA VINCI CODE (12)
A real love-or-hate effort. Many fans of the book felt the film didn't live up to the hype. I was surprised, though, as I feel the film cracks along at a decent pace, injecting the necessary thrills at just the right time to keep things exciting. Paul Bettany is superb as Silas, though Audrey Tatou is somewhat dull as Sophie. Unmissable.

SERIES 1-5 (15)
A real treat for fans of old rogues Jack and Victor as Greg Hemphill and Ford Kiernan bring their Glaswegian grumpy old codgers into our homes again. All five series of the brilliantly written comedy are here so fans will not want to miss out on this one. This has to be the perfect Christmas present.
