INVENTOR came with a late run to deny long-time leader Laterly in the Bet365 Best Odds Handicap at Haydock.

Micky Fenton's mount, a 25-1 shot, looked like making all but Alan Munro brought Inventor (20-1) with a telling charge to get up close home and win by a length.

"Alan rode a cracking race, the horses are flying. We had two winners on Thursday, two on Friday and now a winner today," said Patrick MacEwan assistant to winning trainer Brian Meehan.
