Alla Kudryavtseva follows Sharapova win with another victory

ALLA KUDRYAVTSEVA proved she wasn't a one-hit wonder yesterday by following up her win over Maria Sharapova with another Wimbledon victory.

The Russian giant-killer was still on cloud nine after shocking the tennis world on Thursday with a win over her compatriot, who was the champion at SW19 in 2004.

But Kudryavtseva showed that victory had not gone to her head as she beat China's Shuai Peng 6-3 1-6 6-4.

The 20-year-old claimed the first set on Court 14 before being brought back down to earth when she won just one game in losing the second.

However, she recovered to take the match and go into the fourth-round, the furthest she has gone in her four Grand Slam appearances.
