RANGERS No.2 Ally McCoist reckons his side are in for a stiff test against Fiorentina on Thursday - because cocky pal Ian Durrant has gone quiet!

Gers coach Durrant and chief scout Ewan Chester have both been on spying missions to check out La Viola.

But it was Durrant's reaction to their 2-0 defeat at Inter Milan that raised McCoist's antennae to the quality they'll face.

He said: "Ewan saw them against PSV Eindhoven in the last round and Durranty saw them against Inter Milan when they lost 2-0. I'll watch them on DVD as well but his reaction worried me.

"He always phones me after the game and starts off 'We'll hump them...' - but there was no 'we'll hump them' this time!"
