DELIGHTED Rangers fan John Hamilton is heading to Italy for Rangers' crucial UEFA Cup semi-final decider against Fiorentina courtesy of MailSport and Carling.

We teamed up with the Old Firm sponsors to give away two gold-dust tickets for the second leg on May 1, plus flights and overnight accommodation in the stunning city of Florence.

And Ibrox season ticket holder John, who turned 50 this year, says his prize is the ultimate belated present.

The IT support consultant from Kirkmuirhill, Lanarkshire, said: "This has made my day, my month and if the result goes our way my year as well! It's a fantastic late present. I'm going to the first leg but thought I'd have to watch the second on TV.

"I haven't travelled to away games in Europe this year because of work so that makes this trip even sweeter."

The big game at the Artemio Franchi Stadium will decide if Rangers go to the final in Manchester.

Now all John has to decide is who to bring along.

He said: "My wife Vivien will have first dibs. Especially as she answered the call telling me I had won and thought it was a wind-up!"
