Contract Is No Big Deal For Barry

CALEY Thistle veteran Barry Wilson insists he will let his feet do the talking as he waits to learn his contract fate.

The 36-year-old fans' favourite is sweating over a new deal but turned on the style and supplied the ammunition to sink Kilmarnock.

But the man of the match is in no mood to go battering down Craig Brewster's door in search of another year's deal in Inverness.

Wilson, who has enjoyed nine years in two spells at Caley, would love to line up a 10th year ahead of his summer testimonial but said: "You've got to ask the manager if that will happen. I'm not going to be shouting from the rooftops that I should be getting a new deal.

"If he wants to give me one, then great. If not, so be it. All good things come to an end but I'm just glad I've been given a chance to play a few games having been away on loan at St Johnstone.

"If anything comes of it, then great. I think the boss has been impressed by the way I've trained and my attitude since I came back north.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned. You've got to be realistic and it might be something like a short-term deal the club comes up with."

Wilson admitted the confident beating of Killie was a major boost to the players.

He said: "There were lots of positives. We defended really solidly and after one or two things to deal with early on, Michael Fraser wasn't really troubled."
