Gus blasts his side after St Mirren share spoils with Gretna

FUMING Gus MacPherson tore into his sloppy Buddies after they could only muster a point against the bottom dogs.

With Gretna staring extinction in the face St Mirren were expected to blow them away.

But MacPherson's team simply never turned up in the first half and the gaffer (left) didn't mince his words afterwards.

He said: "It was as bad as it has been in the first half. When you perform like that people are going to throw accusations at you that you have switched off.

"We've been considerably better than that at home for a long, long time now so we're disappointed to drop two points.

"We're expected to win every home game - the fans demand it. The players are being judged by people who are paying good money to see them. We understand they might switch off but we won't accept it."

However MacPherson still reckons Buds would have won if not for outstanding Gretna No.1 Greg Fleming (farleft). He said: "Their keeper played a blinder - he must have had three or four first-class saves."
