MOTHERWELL star Steven McGarry has revealed he plans to extend his career and play into his late 30s - thanks to Mark McGhee's Fir Park regime.
McGarry (28) is enjoying the best spell of his career at Well and is gearing up for a crack at the UEFA Cup.
And he admits he's come a long way since St Mirren sent him out on loan to Boston United six years ago.
The midfielder, who was signed by ex-Well boss Terry Butcher, is now flourishing under the guidance of McGhee. And he said: "Different players react to different managers and that's what happened here.
"When I was younger other things occupied my mind but now I'm more focused. I'm looking to play until I'm 35 or 36 so I can look after my family.
"Lads I played with at St Mirren got into trouble through drink and are no longer in football. Not many get a second chance so I'm determined to take it."
