MOTHERWELL'S shocked players were left shaken after an earthquake hit their pre-season training camp in Austria.
The squad were asleep when the tremor shook the Alpine town of Obertraun.
The quake lasted several seconds and registered 3.8 on the Richter scale.
Players were woken by the vibrations and several left their rooms to find out what was happening.
They later found out the earthquakes epicentre was in a village seven miles away from Obertraun.
Well full-back Paul Quinn admitted it was a strange experience. He said: "We had gone to our beds then around 1am the building started shaking.
"It was pretty scary. I leapt up and ran out my room and saw the other boys' doors opening at the same time as we tried to see what was going on."
Fir Park gaffer Mark McGhee admitted he snoozed through the tremor. He said: "Scott Leitch told me about it but I never heard it.
"I ca't believe I slept through an earthquake, I'd have liked to have felt it."
