Kilmarnock closing in on Russell

KILMARNOCK boss Jim Jefferies looks certain to tie up the signing of Airdrie United's play-off goal hero Allan Russell.

Jefferies pinpointed the former Hamilton and Partick Thistle striker as a replacement for Colin Nish who was sold to Hibs in January.

Jeff said: "The chairman and his agent are just sorting out the minor details with the signing.

"But we're virtually there - we've agreed everything that is relevant.

"I'm just waiting until it's all sorted then we'll get Allan's medical done.

"But all the signs are he wants to come to us."
