Morocco recall for Hibs ace

HIBS star Merouane Zemmama is delighted to see his international ban lifted after he was named in the Morocco squad for a World Cup qualifier.

The midfielder was suspended from all national team involvement after former club Raja Casablanca claimed he had breached his contract by signing for Hibs in 2006.

Now Zemmama, on loan at Al Sha'ab in the United Arab Emirates until his pregnant 17-year-old wife is old enough to apply for a UK Visa, has finally been granted a pardon by new boss Roger Lemerre.

The former France gaffer has named him in his squad for the home qualifier against Mauritania on October 11.

Zemmama said: "This is a huge moment. I have always wanted to play with Morocco but was totally innocent of doing anything wrong during the Hibs transfer.

"Now I am happy and want to show what I can do."
