Mixu's budget pledge

HIBS boss Mixu Paatelainen insists he has enough cash in his transfer kitty to take the club forward and says he will be looking to snap up some bargains in his Finnish homeland.

Some of Mixu's predecessors have complained about the financial constraints placed on them at Easter Road.

But Mixu, who quit Finnish side TPS Turku to join Hibs, said: "I am happy with the budget.

"There is scope to bring in new players and improve the squad.

"So there's no problem in that at all. The board and the chairman, everyone wants to improve our squad and not go the other way.

"We have the chance to improve and we will do so.

"In comparison to Finland the SPL is a better standard and hence the players I am looking at must be of a higher calibre. There are still some good players over there though but time will tell whether there are any Finns joining us."
