HARD-LINE Hearts coach Stevie Frail insists his row with runaway defender Jose Goncalves won't have a long term effect on the player's future at the club.
The Tynecastle caretaker boss was forced to discipline the Portuguese star after Goncalves allegedly stormed off following the Jambos midweek defeat to Rangers.
Frail dropped the full-back from his squad for yesterday's 3-0 win over Inverness but expects him back in training tomorrow.
The Gorgie gaffer refused to confirm if Goncalves flew back to his homeland for the weekend but revealed the 22-year-old had wished his team-mates the best of luck.
Frail said: "It's an internal matter.
But I was not prepared to accept what Jose did. He's held up his hands and knows he was wrong.
"When I told him he wasn't going to Inverness he shook my hand and wished myself and the rest of the boys all the best.
"I don't know if he's gone back to Portugal. Someone saw him at the airport but he might just have been picking someone up.
"I expect to see himat training on Monday with the rest of the squad.
I don't see this as being a long-term problem between us."
