GRETNA boss Davie Irons has blasted the SPL for telling his club to build a stadium that can house twice the population of the village.
The tiny Borders club are renting Fir Park this season as their Raydale Park ground doesn't meet the league's 6,000-capacity criteria.
Irons said: "Gretna only has 3,000 people and there's no way we would fill a 6,000-seater stadium.
"The SPL rule puts a strain on clubs. Rebuilding grounds nearly killed Partick Thistle, Dundee and Raith."
