GRETNA boss Davie Irons admitted his side lack the quality to compete in the SPL as they were cast six points adrift at the foot of the table.
He is now praying his team can keep in touch with their nearest rivals until the January transfer window opens and he can strengthen his squad.
Irons said: "I don't want to be unkind to our defenders but we lack experience and at the second goal in particular we were naive as we had a three on one situation and yet it was their striker who read the bounce.
"I know we are not good enough at the moment. We are lacking the SPL quality and it is plain to see. But the club has come a long way in a short period of time and we are punching well above our weight.
"I am not going to give up the fight after working so hard to get us here.
"The aim is to try and stay in contact and change things around. We are six points adrift but that can change very quickly. Hopefully we can strengthen in January.
"Brooks Mileson has been a great support and it is his ambition to establish the club at a realistic level that is sustainable."
