Karl won't mess up Bjarsmyr bid

KARL SVENSSON will tell hot Swede Mattias Bjarsmyr to go and make a name for himself at Ibrox.

IFK Gothenburg star Bjarsmyr, 22, insists he is the latest target for Rangers.

And although former team-mate Svensson flopped at Ibrox, he won't put his pal off a move.

Svensson, now at French side Caen, said: "Mattias is one of the top defenders in Sweden and I know him from my time at Gothenburg.

"He's physical but good with the ball at his feet.

"It didn't work out as I would have liked in Scotland but I wouldn't put Mattias off if he asked for advice.

"Rangers are a great club but it's his decision. If Walter Smith buys him Rangers will land a very good player."

Bjarsmyr, who is valued at £2million, said: "I received a call from someone telling me about Rangers' interest but I referred him to my agent Martin Dahlin."

Former Swedish international hero Dahlin refused to comment on any contact made from the Ibrox outfit.
