Coaching class brought back my Ruski rage

THE agonising memories of one of Ian Durrant's worst moment in football came flooding back when he studied Russia and Greece in training as part of his UEFA coaching licence last week.

The SFA and football agent Kenny Moyes organised access for Durrant to see Guus Hiddink work with the Russians and reigning European champs Greece under the guidance of Otto Rehhagel at Euro 2008.

Durrant enjoyed it but couldn't help but feel resentment towards Russia's Zenit St Petersburg players who helped dump Rangers 2-0 in the UEFA Cup Final last month.

The Gers coach said: "I was in the Russia camp the other day to watch them in action. A few Zenit players were training with the squad and I felt the rage again.

"The anger of losing the UEFA Cup Final came back to me. It was one of my most disappointing nights ever."
