WALTER SMITH last night blasted the Rangers fans who disgraced the club by going on the rampage in Manchester.
More than 40 supporters were arrested as thousands ran riot after Wednesday's UEFA Cup Final defeat, attacking policemen and damaging shops in shameful scenes.
Chairman Sir David Murray was disgusted with their behaviour and Smith has joined himin condemning the mindless thugs.
The Rangers boss said: "What happened after the game was not a good reflection on the club.
"I hope we never see anything like it again.
"Yet we knew there was a good atmosphere in the city before the game although we felt a bit divorced from it all in the hotel.
"The post-match problems aside, the fans seemed to be having a good day and the support we received in the stadium was fantastic.
"But what happened after the final wasn't on. A minority caused embarrassment and the post-match problems put a bit of a dampener on the whole occasion."
