CRAIG LEVEIN reckons Rangers rival Walter Smith has worked wonders by turning a bunch of underachievers into formidable winners.
But the Dundee United boss believes phase two of Smith's rebuilding job will prove even more difficult.
Levein was the last manager to beat the Ibrox boss domestically in October and hopes to repeat the trick in today's live clash. But he said: "Rangers have a resilience that was lacking before Walter came in. They underachieved before he arrived and it's still early in his rebuilding.
"He has stopped other teams scoring but the next step could be more difficult if he goes back to 4-4-2 and tries to turn them into a free-flowing team."
Gers beat United on penalties to lift the CIS Cup last month and Levein said: "We'd love to finish third but it would never make up for that disappointment."
