Gers Fan's Final Tally Reaches 31

LIFELONG Rangers fan Andy Bain will attend his 31st League Cup Final today and hopes to see his side set another record by bagging the trophy for the 25th time.

Bain, 81, was at Hampden when Gers beat Aberdeen 4-0 in the first League Cup Final in 1947 and was at the their last success in 2005 - a 5-1 win over Motherwell.

The Glasgow OAP said: "I've been going to see Rangers since 1934 and have been to every League Cup Final.

"Some have been good and some not so good. The 1957 7-1 defeat to Celtic is one I'd rather forget!

"I'd love to see the team win it again as Walter Smith and the players deserve success. It has been three years since we won silverware - far too long for me."
