Gers Not Keen On Long Haul
WALTER SMITH will snub mega-money offers to take Rangers on pre-season tours to Australia or America.
The Gers boss won't make plans for the summer until he knows their final league finish - but it won't be flights halfway round the world.
He said: "We got offered trips, to Australia in particular, but that's not for us.
"It's difficult to pin down dates. Last yearwe were fairly clear where we'd finish so knew our schedule.
"Now if we win the SPL we could have one Champions League qualifier or possibly none after the season has started, unlike last year.
"We're assuming it will be late in the day before we know for sure."
Smith said Gers have been offered warm-up games in Denmark, Switzerland and Austria that could fit in with their schedule.
