Spurs Set To Go Back For Hutton

SPURS are ready to make a fresh swoop for Alan Hutton and are confident of landing the Rangers full-back.

Ibrox chiefs are happy to sell Hutton for £8million and will use the money to make a £3.5m move for Aston Villa striker Luke Moore.

Spurs agreed a fee with Gers three weeks ago but Hutton turned down the chance to increase his wages from £9,000 a week to around £25,000.

However, MailSport understands the player is now reconsidering the move. And Hutton would welcome the chance to get back round the table with Tottenham and hear their plans for the club.

Selling the Scotland star would give Gers boss Walter Smith the funds to strengthen his squad.

Striker Daniel Cousin has also been linked with a move to England but Smith plans to swoop for Villa's Moore even if the Gabon ace stays at Ibrox.

Moore has been to visit Glasgow and has sounded out people about Rangers and life in the city. But Villa chiefMartin O'Neill won't let him go on the cheap.

The former Celtic boss last month used a clause in the 21-year-old's contract to extend his deal until summer 2009 and will insist on a £3.5m fee.

A source close to Moore said: "Luke wants to move to Rangers but isn't sure if the club can afford him.

"It's out of his hands at the moment."
