Gers Can Tough It Out To Title

ALEX McLEISH believes Rangers have the edge in the title race but wouldn't be surprised to see it go to the last day.

The titles Eck won for Gers came with seconds to spare in dramatic afternoons in 2003 and 2005.

Now McLeish reckons Walter Smith and Gordon Strachan are on course for a rollercoaster ride just like himself and Martin O'Neill.

Eck said: " Much could depend on the ins and outs during the transfer window.

"I watched Rangers beat Celtic 3-0 at Ibrox and felt they were more physical and perhaps more equipped.

"I'm not saying they are cloggers but they have a mixture of presence and talent. I left that game feeling Rangers could nick the title.

"But it's neck and neck and it would not surprise me to see it go all the way."
