RANGERS reserve Kirk Broadfoot is praying Walter Smith hands him a dream call-up for Tuesday's trip to old club St Mirren.
The 23-year-old has made just five appearances since his summer switch from Love Street.
But the defender hopes he can feature in Paisley as Smith rotates his squad to deal with the club's hectic January schedule.
And Broadfoot wants to show his old Buddies how much he has learned from training with top defenders like David Weir and Carlos Cuellar.
He said: "I hope the gaffer will use me against my old team. "I still keep in touch with the boys from St Mirren.
"Stewart Kean lives five doors down the road from me in Ayrshire so I see a lot of him.
"I also speak to Hugh Murray and the coaching staff because they did so much for me."
Broadfoot (below) insists the encouragement of senior Ibrox stars has stopped him feeling down as he sits on the sidelines.
He said: "Lee McCulloch, Barry Ferguson and Davie Weir keep telling me to keep my head up and it means a lot.
"It's going to take time but I'm here for the fight. There comes a day when you need to start playing but at the moment I'm happy being patient."
