RANGERS have passed up the chance to sign Monaco left-back Jeremy Berthod.
The former France Under-21 star won four league titles with Lyon before moving to Monaco last year.
But the 23-year-old has only played four first-team games since leaving the Stade Gerland and his agents have been in touch with Gers.
The £2million-rated star has an impressive CV but Ibrox manager Walter Smith has decided against making a bid during the current transfer window.
Lyon-born Berthod has made 78 appearances in the French top flight since taking his senior bow five years ago.
