FALKIRK keeper Robert Olejnik hopes the appointment of new Austria boss Karel Bruckner can breathe life into his international ambitions.
The 21-year-old's dream of getting a call-up in the summer to take part in Euro 2008 in his homeland failed to materialise.
However, with Czech legend Bruckner having replaced Josef Hickersberger as manager and getting off to a stunning start when Austria beat France 3-1 earlier this month, Olejnik is hoping to have his club form recognised back home.
He said: "There was always an outside chance of me being involved in Euro 2008 but I suppose I knew I wasn't going to get picked.
"But we've brought in a new manager since then. We had a great result against France the other week and hopefully he'll have a look at me.
"It's always good when a new boss comes in because he'll have his own ideas and it's someone new to impress.
"As long as you're playing well for your club you never know, you might get the call."
Falkirk face Queen of the South in the Co-operative Cup on Tuesday and the Austrian admits that after the arrival of experienced campaigners Jackie McNamara, Neil McCann, Lee Bullen and Burton O'Brien in the summer, the Bairns have silverware in their sights.
He said: "One of our aims for the season was to do well in one of the cups.
"It's only four games from the start to the final so with all the signings we've made we are looking to get a decent run."
