FURIOUS Falkirk gaffer John Hughes ripped into his players for their lacklustre display at Kilmarnock.
Hughes was raging with his side as they ended the season with a 2-1 defeat at Rugby Park - accusing them of lacking pride and character.
The Bairns boss said: "That was so disappointing. We've had a wonderful season for a so-called provincial club. We've punched above our weight for many years and finished seventh.
"But that performance tells you the story of why we're not in the top six.
"Whether playing out on the street or at five a sides you need pride about yourself. But it started yesterday with a couple of players p*****g about in training and it carried on into the warm-up. They need to have pride and passion for the club.
"If Roy Keane had been wearing a Falkirk shirt would he have accepted that?
"I don't have anyone like him in my side and that's why we're not in the top six.
"They'll bang on my door and say I'm this or I'm that, I'm the best thing since sliced bread - are they b******s."
Hughes has already started planning for next season with the signings of Jackie McNamara, Neil McCann and Lee Bullen.
He believes the trio of experienced campaigners will help sort out his dressingroom.
He said: "I have brought in guys with good character. Playing football you need pride about yourself but one or two seem to want an easy day out now and again.
"The three guys I have brought in will not accept that."
