We need to relax more if we're to get back to winning ways, warns Dundee Utd boss Craig Levein

DUNDEE UNITED boss Craig Levein told his players they need to relax more in front of goal after watching them crash to defeat against Kilmarnock.

Levein reckons his troops look worried when presented with a chance - and that was the case yesterday as they missed at least two excellent opportunities.

United were tipped for Europe at the start of the season but have claimed just two points from their first four games.

And they've won only twice in 18 SPL clashes - with their last victory coming on March 22 against Motherwell at Tannadice.

It's a worrying run of form and Levein knows they need to start delivering in front of goal.

He said: "I couldn't see us losing and felt we were comfortable. But goals change games.

"We created chances but didn't take them. There's no doubt we are too anxious in front of goal.

"On three occasions when we tried to score we hit one of our own players. That kind of thing leaves me frustrated but it was only our crossing and play in the final third that left me disappointed.

"However, I'll be happy if we play like that every week.

"We really wanted to win and I thought we passed the ball well and showed great application."
