RAGING Craig Levein has slammed calls to ban keeper Lucasz Zaluska from the CIS Cup Final for gesturing to the mindless Aberdeen fans who pelted him with coins.
The Dundee United boss can't believe the SFA are planning a disciplinary hearing against the Polish keeper for taunting the Dons crowd at the end of the Arabs' 4-1 semi-final win.
And he called on the authorities to target the REAL problem and weed out the idiots, including United fans, who shamed Scottish football with the shocking abuse of the players.
Levein said: "I'm annoyed that people are suggesting Lucasz should get punished for gesturing to the fans.
"The lad is an inexperienced keeper, he has arrived in this coun try and I wonder what he must think of Scottish football when he gets subjected to that treatment.
"I would have been turning around and telling them where to go as well.
"Instead of looking at Lucasz saying 'Get it up you!' we should be looking at those mindless idiots and use the CCTV cameras.
"They are the ones who are guilty - and I'm talking about the ones in the Dundee United end as well.
"We should be pulling these people out and charging them. Forget about the keeper. If I had arrived in Poland and got that treatment, God knows what I would think about Polish people."
Levein (right) added: "Let's look at the real problem - the people who throw coins. If they hit someone in the eye it could cause serious injury. That's far worse than putting your fingers up at the crowd.
"Lucasz is upset and I will be even more upset if anybody decides to look at his role rather than address the real problem."
