POLICE in Villarreal will stage their biggest ever operation this week to cope with an invasion by Celtic fans - but the town's top cop is keen to welcome the arrivals.
Chief Jose Ramon Martinez says Rangers and Celtic have brought more supporters in recent years than English giants Manchester United and Spanish big guns Real Madrid.
The Hoops have received 3000 tickets for the clash but Martinez said: "We are preparing for as many as 6000 fans arriving. Celtic have a huge travelling support but the great thing is there is never any conflict.
"People in Villarreal look forward to their visit because Scottish people are good people. We expect everyone to have a good time on Tuesday."
