My injury sticks in the Croat

CROCKED Barry Robson was used as a pawn in a three-way row between the Old Firm and Scotland the last time he was on international duty.

But he insists he WAS injured when sent home from the Croatia game despite protests from Celtic supremo Peter Lawwell.

Robson was sent packing with a knee injury but amid a furious row over a run of Rangers call-offs it was claimed that was to redress the Old Firm balance at a delicate stage of the season.

However, Robson said: "There was nothing I could do the last time - I had a massive swollen knee.

"It was disappointing that I never got to play - I want to be here for every game. But that's in the past.

"Was I annoyed at what was said? It didn't bother me. I knew what was going on, I spoke to the manager here so it wasn't a problem for me.

"I had a swollen knee, that's it. I stayed for a day or two because no-one can tell the future, predicting injuries, but then had to go."

For now, though, Barry intends to switch off and recharge - and that won't involve being a Euro 2008 couch potato!

He said: "Watch the Euros?

I'm just looking forward to my holidays. Look at the Rangers guys and us, people don't appreciate how much you're away, staying in hotels, not seeing your kids.

"I'm not going to complain, it's a good life, but for me summer is for spending quality time with the family."
