CELTIC new boy Andreas Hinkel breezed into Scotland last night then set his sights on landing a dream ticket to Euro 2008 with Germany.
The full-back hopes his £2million switch from Sevilla can help him win back his place in the national team after falling out of favour during his time in Spain.
Hinkel has 17 caps but Germany boss Joachim Low has left him out this season because of his lack of first-team football in La Liga.
And the former Stuttgart star hopes dazzling for the Hoops every week can kickstart his international career.
Hinkel, who will make his debut against Stirling in the Scottish Cup on Saturday, said: "The next few months are vital because I want to make the Euro 2008 squad.
"It is one of my dreams to play at this tournament. Celtic are capable of winning the title and that would also give me tremendous joy.
"This season was bad for me at Sevilla. I need to play and believe that's possible in Scotland.
"I'll fight for my place from the moment I get there."
Dortmund were also interested in Hinkel but the 25-year-old was made to feel more wanted by the Hoops.
He said: "The Celtic directors influenced my decision. They fought for me and it was important to know they had confidence in my ability.
"It will be a challenge. Celtic have a history as one of the best clubs in Europe and Glasgow also has a great football tradition."
