GUTTED Jimmy Calderwood admits even Wayne Rooney would struggle to score in his side when the service is so bad.
The Pittodrie gaffer couldn't hide his frustration as his team got off to a nightmare start.
So-called relegation tips Inverness left the Granite City with a comfortable win thanks to super goals from Andrew Barrowman and Roy McBain.
Calderwood has added Tommy Wright to the ranks but the ex-Darlington striker wasn't fit enough to start.
Yet the Dons boss says the best players in the world would not find the net unless delivery to them improved dramatically.
Caldo said: "The service in to the strikers has to be better. You need quality and pace. When it's not there even Wayne Rooney would struggle to score.
"That's a hard one for us to take and it will be a sore weekend. We were our own worst enemy as Caley's first goal came from us losing possession in a stupid position.
"We were fighting against ourselves at times and it's disappointing. All credit to Caley, they defended really well and always looked dangerous on the counter attack.
"Now our next two games against Motherwell and Rangers are made even harder but we have to pick ourselves up.
Striker Lee Miller was the only Dons player to emerge with credit after a cracking shift and after seeing Wright in training he can't wait to link up with him for real next weekend.
Lee said: "Tommy's finishing was good. He's a big lad who puts himself about and I'm sure he'll be a character.
"He's definitely the type of guy I fancy playing with.
"That was so frustrating today because we started reasonably well. But we just had no cutting edge up front and never really created anything."
