Lee: It's payback time for Ibrox men

LEE MILLER watched Rangers go out of their way to kill off Aberdeen's hopes of a European spot at the end of last season when they had little to play for.

And the striker has warned the Light Blues to expect the same attitude from the Dons when the Ibrox men look to tie up the league title on Thursday night.

Defeat at Motherwell last week means only pride will be at stake for Jimmy Calderwood's men and Miller is disappointed there won't be a repeat of last May when his side had a UEFA Cup place in their sights.

A home win then sparked wild celebrations but this time it's the visitors who will be hoping to party at Pittodrie with the SPL title set to be decided on a final day of drama.

Ex-Dundee United star Miller insists his side will be up for it and pointed to Gers' desire last season plus the intense rivalry between the clubs as a reason to go all out for the win.

Miller, who celebrates his 25th birthday today, said: "The final game of last season was incredible and Rangers put up a good fight to the end.

"They never rolled over but this time the pressure is on them and they won't come to Pittodrie expecting an easy victory because they know what games against Aberdeen are like.

"You don't go out to lose a match. They have to come to Pittodrie and win but we're not going to be brushed aside.

"The rivalry between Aberdeen and Rangers is terrific and hopefully we can put in a performance for the supporters who won't want them winning the title on our patch.

"The banter between the fans is incredible and it's the one match our supporters want to win more than any other."

Miller admitted he has friends on both sides of the Old Firm divide pestering him to either bust a gut or take it easy.

And he also expects his old Hearts team-mate Paul Hartley to get in touch.

The frontman - who signed a new deal at the Dons this week - said: "I haven't spoken to Paul but I'm sure he'll send me a text.

"And my mates who are fans of Rangers or Celtic will probably be in touch too.

"It's incredible the different text messages you receive but it's all friendly banter."
