Calderwood: We Need To Be Big Game Hunters!

JIMMY CALDERWOOD is praying his wounded Aberdeen side can quickly re-discover the big game mentality that got them to the last 32 of the UEFA Cup.

The Dons boss was raging last week as his team were crushed 4-1 by Dundee United in the semi-final of the CIS Cup.

But he's adamant he'll get a reaction from his squad for the visit of German giants Bayern Munich on Thursday night.

Caldo said: "They've done it against the big boys before this season - that was the annoying thing about midweek because it was a massive game.

"No disrespect to United but Dnipro are a better team and so are Lokomotiv Moscow.

"So we've done it before in big pressure games. I just wonder why we can't do it all the time.

"But I'm not nervous about the Bayern match as I think I'll get a reaction from my players.

"We've got to go into the game looking on it as a massive challenge and one we have to meet head on.

"We have nothing to lose. We've let our supporters down recently and the only way to get some pride back is by winning.

"Or at least turning up and really competing."
