Zander Drops Quit Hint

ZANDER DIAMOND last night hinted he is set to leave Aberdeen as D-Day for the Pittodrie contract rebels looms tomorrow.

The stopper is one of four Dons stars given a deadline by the club to sign a new deal.

The others - Barry Nicholson, Michael Hart and Chris Clark - now have until Tuesday to decide after Calderwood gave the squad tomorrow off.

But Diamond will be in for treatment on his ankle and vowed to announce a decision he appears to have already made.

The 22-year-old, who has been linked with Celtic, said: "I can't comment at the moment. I will tell the gaffer my decision on Monday.

"It's a hard one.We all know the situation. They want to keep everyone together but whether that happens is another thing.

"We've got where we want to be in Europe but if the team breaks up then so be it. The gaffer will need to go out and get other players."
