Berwick Rangers 1-1 Elgin City

BERWICK gaffer Allan McGonigal slammed striker Fraser McLaren after bottom club Elgin picked up a point.

McGonigal blasted: "He had enough chances to win the match outright.

"I'm gutted because there's no doubt we have dropped two points."

The Borderers were dominant but couldn't put away their chances before they went down to 10 men in 67 minutes when Kenny Wright was sent off.

Jim Lister got his first goal for Berwick, heading them in front in 21 minutes from a corner.

McLaren then fired wide with the goal at his mercy before being denied by City keeper Andy McNulty.

In 35 minutes Elgin's Jason Crooks hit the bar from 25 yards - then McNulty limped off to be replaced in goal by Ally Ridgers.

David Hind was a fraction away from equalising after the break before Wright was sent off for his second booking.

Elgin levelled in 76 minutes with a Darren Shallicker penalty.

In the closing stages McLaren missed another great chance to wrap up the points.

Elgin's Robbie Williamson said: "It's a point that I reckon we deserved."
