East Stirling 5-2 Elgin

RELIEVED Shire gaffer Jim McInally admits he feared the worst until his stars bagged their fifth goal.

McInally's men were cruising but he was still nervous about dropping points until Craig Donaldson made it 5-2.

McInally said: "I'm delighted with the result and we can take real confidence from it.

"It wasn't until we got the fifth goal that we looked home and dry."

Colin Cramb opened the scoring in 10 minutes with a spot-kick after Paul Kaczan hauled down Andy Rodgers in the box.

Cramb then turned provider when his flick sent Donaldson clear and he fired into the net.

It was game over when Kaczan netted an own goal from Rodgers' low cross in 24 minutes.

Elgin pulled one back six minutes before the break when Ally Macdonald set up Guy Kerr to drill home.

Rodgers added a fourth for Shire in 57 minutes but Kenny Wright pulled another goal back for City six minutes later.

And Donaldson wrapped it up with a calm finish four minutes from time.
