TWO goals in a minute helped Cowdenbeath chalk up their fifth straight win at the expense of 10-man Elgin. The Fifers should have taken the lead on the half hour but Mark Ramsay headed wide.
Two minutes before the break Steven MacKay slid in to halt Brian Fairbairn and was shown a straight red card by ref Frank McDermot who also pointed to the spot.
But teenage keeper Andy McNulty dived low to his right to turn away Fairbairn's spot-kick.
The Fifers went in front in 59 minutes when Fairbairn crossed for Darren McGregor to rise above McNulty and head home.
And 60 seconds later John Gemmell buried a Ramsay pass into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.
