A DOUBLE by globetrotter Pat Walker finally got Rovers' season going against dismal Berwick. Hero Walker only has a few weeks left at the club before he leaves to tour the world for a year.
And he said: "To get two goals was great - but I want a few more before I leave."
Rovers started brightly and took the lead after 24 minutes.
Bobby Barr hit the bye-line and cut the ball back to Walker who netted from 12 yards. Tommy Coyne then missed a sitter after great work by debutant Ross Harris.
But two minutes into the second half Harris crossed for Walker to head home from eight yards.
Rovers gaffer Paul Martin said: "We were terrific. We got our reward for the work we've put in."
Berwick boss Alan McGonigal admitted: "The better team won."
